Sally Kimpson

Sally A. Kimpson, RN, PhD is a Registered Nurse, disability activist and researcher, and Critical Disability Studies scholar. She did her interdisciplinary doctoral research at the University of Victoria exposed the effects of BC government income support policy in the everyday lives of disabled women living with episodic conditions. Her personal experience with disability income support informs her deep interest in the ways poverty and social justice affect the well-being of disabled women.
Currently, Sally is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Centre for Research on Work Disability Policy at SFU, where she is currently Principal Investigator on the CRWDP’s Mapping the Canadian Disability Income Support System project (BC and Alberta), with a view to identifying gaps in the system.
