Young Jung

Student Fellow

Young Jung is currently pursuing a PhD at McMaster University. He is supervised by Dr. Emile Tompa. He is conducting a synthesis of social exclusion measures in the literature, and that estimation of such costs.

Young earned his BSc from the University of Manitoba in Biochemistry and Economics, then joined McMaster University to obtain his Master's degree in Economics. Young's research interests include Economic evaluation, the public/private mix in the financing of healthcare, population projection and the evaluation of factors influencing patients’ financial burden for health care services, particularly in the area of cancer. He aims to provide empirical evidence by analyzing data from different administrative sources and survey data. He is involved with estimating disability and labour market engagement using administrative datasets that are available at StatsCan.
